Brian Gier

Brian Gier serves as chief executive officer of Akralos, a North American animal nutrition company that delivers reliable, high-quality feed and nutritional solutions for livestock, equine, backyard and leisure animals. He brings more than 30 years of experience in the commercial feed industry, with a strong track record of building high-performing teams and trusted brands.

Prior to joining Akralos, Gier served as vice president of the Alltech Feed Division for three years, overseeing sales, marketing and strategy development, with a focus on helping customers improve performance and profitability. Before Alltech, he spent his career with Purina Mills, holding a range of leadership positions, including area sales manager, regional director, and most recently, vice president of sales. In that role, he led commercial livestock strategy, customer operations, and mergers and acquisitions, including eight animal nutrition joint ventures, and helped lead the integration of Land O’Lakes and Purina’s feed businesses — experience that sharpened his ability to align innovation, service and scale to meet producers’ evolving needs.

Gier earned a bachelor’s degree in agriculture economics from the University of Missouri-Columbia and an MBA from the University of Missouri Trulaske College of Business. He and his wife, Angela, have four children and live in Lexington, Kentucky.
